instead of gifts, my girl and i are exchanging favors. each gets to request the other does something around the house or whatnot that they really dont want to do themselves, we keep everything even.

then i get things done because i owe it to her, and things get done i dont want to do. it works out good.

Instead of spending money on a gift, offer to do some kind of favor you’ll know they’ll enjoy. That way it shows some thought and doesn’t have to break the budget.

A great idea is to take some photos and build a montage and frame from scratch. It’s relativle inexpensive and it shows personalization to the person you’re giving it to!

My wife made cinnamon dough ornaments this year. She found some recipes over at Hand Made Country (link), tried a few of them, and found that Recipe #2 worked pretty well. All that's needed is one cup of cinnamon, one cup of applesauce, and one tablespoon of white glue.
